Athletics
In an effort to develop healthy bodies and alert minds while promoting a high standard of good sportsmanship and fair play, Westwood High School offers a varied program of sports activities for both boys and girls. Westwood is a member of the Mid-Peninsula Conference which is a highly competitive league of eight teams in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
Westwood High School offers three sports seasons to their students.
Fall Season incorporates boys’ and girls’ cross country, football, cheerleading, girls’ tennis and volleyball. The winter sports season offers cheerleading, girls’ and boys’ basketball, wrestling, co-ed swimming and diving as well as a Co-op program in hockey. The third season, spring sports entails boys’ tennis, boys’ and girls’ golf, girls’ softball, and track and field.
