Principal’s Message

As Principal of Westwood High, I am excited and deeply committed to making a positive difference in the lives of your children. I am a 1996 graduate of Newberry High School, hold bachelor’s degrees from Hillsdale College and Lake Superior State University, and a master’s degree from Grand Valley State University. My experience in education spans fifteen years and includes several years as a secondary teacher and coach, and eight years in school administration. I am married to my wife, Cassie, and we have two sons, Clifford and Hudson.

Westwood High School is a 9-12 building with a rich tradition of academic, artistic, and athletic excellence. We offer a wide variety of vocational and college prep courses and are committed to ensuring every student receives a quality educational experience. Our school’s variety of student programs and activities presents an opportunity for every young person to be engaged and truly separates us from most schools our size. We are committed to strengthening our best traditions, while at the same time working hard to explore new and exciting learning experiences for all students. Our remarkable staff is committed to providing high-quality instruction that is both engaging and challenging to equip all students with the necessary skills to be successful.
