Teaching and Learning: Instruction will be provided through the district approved learning management system (LMS): Google Classroom. Other applications will be used by teachers to support communication, collection of work and daily interaction with students and families. Curriculum content and daily lessons may be delivered in a variety of applications based on preexisting classroom use and the personalization of the video, recordings, books, documents and other learning activities.
Students who do not have suitable access to the internet will be provided hard copy materials that will be delivered every two weeks via the NICE Community Schools Transportation Department. Please contact the high school office at 485.1023 if you do not have access to the Internet or a computer/device and will need hard copies of materials sent home.

Teachers and students will meet via Zoom during these designated times. On Mondays and
Thursdays, students will meet with their 1st-4th hour classes. On Tuesday and Fridays they will meet with their 5th-7th classes. Wednesdays will be work days for students and planning days for teachers. Zoom meetings may be recorded and available for students to view at a later time.
Attendance: Teachers will take attendance at regularly scheduled meetings. Students are required to attend all scheduled meetings. If students are unable to attend they should contact their teachers and make the appropriate arrangements to get the information.
Assignments: Assignments will be posted to Google Classroom and students are responsible for completing all assignments within the time frame designated by the teacher. All class work is required and will be graded similarly to work done in a face-to-face setting. All class work will be linked to grades and credit accumulation. Of course, much of the work assigned within each lesson will be self-paced, and students will be encouraged to continue working outside of the scheduled class time — as they would if school were not closed. Students who receive hard copy materials will work with their teachers regarding due dates and learning expectations.
Grades: Students will be graded similar to face-to-face learning. Parents should monitor students’ assignments, assessments, and grades routinely using Skyward. Contact the high school office for Skyward login information.
Curriculum: NICE Community Schools Board Approved Curriculum
Communication: Students should check their school email and log into their Google Classroom daily. Teachers will use multiple forms of communication including school email, video conferencing (Zoom), phone calls, etc. Parents and students should continue to monitor Skyward to obtain feedback and assessment scores. Parents and students should communicate general inquiries to staff members using the teacher’s email address or contact the high school office at 485.1023.
Special Education Services: Students will continue to receive the same services as they would during face to face learning. Special education teachers will meet with their students during their scheduled times and will collaborate with general education teachers to provide the necessary support to their students.
