MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS

BREAST HEALTH FUND:  Attention all students, we are having a class competition grades 6-12 to see who can raise the most money in the month of October for the Breast Health Fund.  Buckets are in the office, the class who raises the most will be given a pizza party!  Each student or staff member who makes a $1 donation or larger will be entered in a drawing (one entry per day per staff or student) to win a Patriot apparel item of their choice from our business department. 


ENTREPRENEURSHIP:  The Entrepreneurship class is selling jogging pants for $28.00.  If interested please see Jill Laiho, Dixie Nicholas or go to room 118 to order.  They are also selling color changing water bottles for $6.  If interested please see Emily Solka, Kyle Swiedals or go to room 118 to purchase.

 

FLU SHOT CLINIC:  There will be a flu shot clinic here at WHS on Tuesday, October 24th from 1-2pm.  Forms are available in the office.  Teachers, there are forms in the work room too.

 

SENIORS:  What do Frankenstein, Hogwartz cinch bags and magic, Star Wars origami and lightsaber pens, Serena Williams and LeBron James, Magnus Chase and the Ship of the Dead, the TWELFTH Diary of a Wimpy Kid book, Doctor Who Mad Libs, knitting cute animals, see-behind-you glasses, and U.S. Military by the Numbers all have in common? They are all in this month’s Scholastic book order! See your English teacher or Mrs. Arseneau in room 101 for more details, including a special clearance section. Order going out Wednesday, October 18th. It’s time to have more fun with reading, don’t you think?

There will be an All Night Graduation Party organizational meeting on Wednesday, October 18th at 6pm in the media center for parents of any Westwood High School student.  This meeting is not just for parents of seniors.  The party preparation is shared by the parents of the underclassmen students because it is such a busy time for the parents of the graduates.  Many hands make light work and every hand really does help!  Mark your calendar, invite a friend and bring your ideas.  If you need more information please feel free to contact Melissa Tobias at 396-5047 or email her at nmtobias@att.net

 

Halloween Costume Contest:  The student council is sponsoring a Halloween costume contest on Tuesday, October 31st.  Prizes will be awarded to the winners of the following categories:  scariest, funniest, most creative, best group, best duo, and best teacher.

 

FLOWER SALE:   TODAY is the last day for the flower sale $2.00 each.  Delivery is October 20th.  Proceeds help fund SCI class community outings.

 

ROBOTICS:  The Robotics Team will be hosting a pasta dinner fundraiser on October 20th from 4:30-6:30pm in the WHS cafeteria.  There will be many raffles with over $500 in prizes.  Tickets are $5 for students and $7 for adults.  Please contact a team member for tickets.

 

BOTTLE and CAN DRIVE: The seniors will be having a bottle and can drive fundraiser, right before the varsity football game, starting at 5:30pm on Friday, October 20th.   Cans and bottles can be dropped off next to the ticket booth entrance where they will be located.
