BOOK CLUB:  The WHS Book Club will meet in Miss Chapman’s room 107 today at lunchtime.  Please bring your lunch and book and we’ll review “The Shack.”  Everyone will leave with “Everything, Everything,” our selection for April.  If you have any questions or would like to return your book early, please see Miss Oysti in the Media Center.


JUNIORS:  STUDENT COUNCIL PRESIDENT:  Juniors, if you are interested in becoming the Student Council President for your senior year, pick up a checklist and nomination petition from Mrs. B’s room (110).  The checklist, nomination petition, and a 150 word essay are due back to Mrs. B by today (Friday, March 24).


ATTENTION GIRLS:  There will be a “Women in Construction Day” at Northern Michigan University!

April 7, 2017 from 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. at the Jacobetti Complex.  Learn from and interact with women in the construction industry.  FREE for young women 7th grade and up. Space is limited so secure your space and register by March 24, 2017. Day of registration will not be available.  Contact the Guidance Office if interested.


ATTENTION SENIORS:  The yearbook staff is working on a slide show for the all night grad party and are looking for pictures anyone wants to include.  They can be group pictures or individual pictures from over the years.  Please send them to  Any questions please see Megan Pohlman or Mrs. Casperson.


ATTENTION SOPHOMORES AND JUNIORS:   Applications for the MARESA / NMU / MSSC Career and Technical Education programs are in the WHS Office.  Any Sophomore or Junior interested in taking classes in Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management, Welding, Aviation Maintenance, Automotive Service Technology, or Cosmetology should pick up an application as soon as possible. These classes will be taught at the Jacobetti Complex or the Main Street School of Cosmetology.  Applications are due back to WHS by Monday, April 17, 2017.   


W.I.N. Girls Softball League will be holding their registration for ages 7-17 on Tuesday, April 4th and Thursday, April 6th from 6-8pm at the Ishpeming Township Hall.  Registration forms are available in the office or online at


PRE-ENROLLMENT FORMS:  Turn in your pre-enrollment form to the office if you have not done so already. 


 DODGEBALL TOURNAMENT:  The student council will be sponsoring a dodgeball tournament around spring fling (week of April 24th).  If you are interested, gather up a team of 8 and sign up on the student council bulletin board ASAP.  


GOLFERS:  First practice will be Monday April 3rd. Bring a putter and meet down by the woodshop at 3:10.


KEY CLUB:  The key club is competing against Negaunee’s Key Club to see who can collect the most boxes of band aids. Some teachers are offering extra credit, so if this is the case, show them to your teacher before bringing them to room 100. All of our band aids will be given to the Salvation Army to help supply their care packages. We are also collecting new or gently used blankets for the Salvation Army. All items are due by April 5th.
